Milan Polytechnic University and iCenter signed a memorandum of academic cooperation at the 9th China-Italian Innovation Cooperation Week

On December 4th, the iCenter of Tsinghua University signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation with MIP Business School of Milan Polytechnic University and Sidera S.r.l. The signing ceremony was held at the opening ceremony of the 9th China-Italian Innovation and Cooperation Week jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Ministry of Scientific Research of the Italian Higher Education. The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang and Minister of Scientific Research of the Italian Higher Education Marco Bussetti.

On the morning of December 3rd, Tang Bin, General Secretary and Assistant Director of Tsinghua University iCenter, Wang Jianmei, Director of Innovation and Development, Wang Deyu, Director of the Technological Innovation Laboratory, and Rong Jian, Office Director, visited MIP Business School of Milan University of Technology. They had meeting with Professor Giuliano Noci, Vice President of Milan University of Technology and Board Member of Directors of Business School, Professor Andrea Sianesi, Dean of Business School, Professor Lucio Lamberti, Director of International Affairs, Delia Olivetto, Director of China Affairs, and Muscat, Commissioner of Operations. Lin Jian, CEO of China-Italian Design Innovation Base, attended in the talks as well. Professor Noch first introduced Milan Polytechnic University’s long history and rich experience in personnel training, and expressed his strong interest in jointly offering long-term education and training projects around the topics of industry 4.0, Made in China 2025, Intelligent Manufacturing and Industrial Transformation. Afterwards, Professor Tang Bin introduced the development strategy and superior resources of the center in engineering education, innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the phased achievements of teaching conditions construction in the field of intelligent manufacturing. At the same time, he expressed his expectations for future curriculum cooperation mode and faculty team building. At the meeting, the two sides discussed the specific content of cooperation in the next stage, and exchanged on the topics of future cooperation, such as intelligent manufacturing, digital transformation, inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage, and design innovation.

The Memorandum of Cooperation stipulates that iCenter of Tsinghua University and MIP Business School of Milan Polytechnic University will carry out various forms of cooperation in related fields, such as teacher exchange, student exchange, joint scientific research projects, joint training projects and exchange of educational management experience. In order to promote the development of education in both universities, more in-depth cooperation is carried out on the basis of iCenter technology innovation and entrepreneurship minor specialty, industrial innovation method training, double-innovation education platform and Humanities and intelligence center.

After the symposium, the group also visited the Industrial 4.0 Laboratory, Wind Tunnel Laboratory and China-Italian Design Innovation Base accompanied by Professor Lucho, Delia and Muscat.
