On April 24, the kickoff ceremony of the '86 Alumni Fund Project "Tsinghua Craftsmanship Competition" was held during the 30th Anniversary Celebrations for the Class of 1986 (graduating class of 1991). This project aims to support the creation of the university's engineering innovation education and workforce education systems, helping promote the development of Tsinghua's innovative talent training mechanisms and carry on Tsinghua's craftsmanship traditions. Present at the ceremony were He Meiying, former Secretary of the Tsinghua Party Committee, Yuan Wei, Secretary-general of Tsinghua University Education Foundation, and Yang Liu, Deputy Secretary-general of Tsinghua Alumni Association. Presiding over the ceremony was Wang Xiqin, Executive Vice President of Tsinghua University and a graduate of the Department of Radio Electronics in 1991.

Li Shuangshou, who graduated with the 6th Casting Class of 1986 and currently serves as Director of the Fundamental Industry Training Center at Tsinghua, gave an overview of the specific implementation plan for the Tsinghua University iCenter and the Tsinghua Craftsmanship Competition. He said that the Tsinghua Craftsmanship Competition will be hosted annually by the Fundamental Industry Training Center. The competition asks students to live by the craftsmanship traditions by creating real products and solutions with their own hands in the service of national development, industrial progress, technological innovation, and community welfare. In the competition, we will ask representatives of the class of '86, scholars, and industry experts to provide guidance to the students, passing on Tsinghua's craftsmanship traditions. During the donation ceremony, He Meiying, Yuan Wei, Yang Liu, Liu Xun, and Wang Wenbin jointly announced this competition.
