On January 4, the New Infrastructure Big Data Center officially opened in the Lee Shau Kee Science and Technology Building, marking the completion of the iCenter's Shuimu Xiyuan project, an innovation and entrepreneurship practice space open to students. In September 2020, the various facilities of the Shuimu Xiyuan began to open one after another, welcoming a number of student teams, including the Leading Lights for Science & Technology Innovation innovative talent training program from Tsinghua University, the AI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Capability Enhancement Certificate Program (hereinafter referred to as AI Innovation Certificate Program), and the Qian Xuesen Class of Tsinghua University. These facilities gave them the support they needed in their practice-based innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research activities. In just a few months, the Shuimu Xiyuan would see the teams it nurtured go on to win awards at many prestigious competitions, including the National University Students Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Competition, Challenge Cup, China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, and China-US Young Makers Competition.
