On 21st October 2019, Luc Moreau, Attaché for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France in China, together with Laurent Champaney, President of Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers, and other 8 people visited Tsinghua University. Peng Gang, Vice President of Tsinghua University met with the French delegation in iCenter, Tsinghua University. The two sides signed the memorandum between iCenter and Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers, and conducted in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation. Li Shuangshou, Director of iCenter, and faculties of the center attended the signing ceremony and had a discussion with the French side.
Before the signing ceremony, Peng Gang welcomed the French delegation and briefed the guests on the latest development of Tsinghua University’s internationalization strategy. According to Peng Gang, Tsinghua University has attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers. The two sides signed an agreement on cooperation and student exchange in 2010 and an international cooperation framework agreement in 2017. Based on these agreements, the iCenter of Tsinghua University has cooperated with Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers to implement specific cooperation items. The cooperation between the two sides will push the exchange and cooperation between the two institutions to a new stage and jointly train more outstanding talents for the two countries.

Laurent Champaney congratulated Tsinghua University on its achievements in international development. He gave a brief introduction of discipline construction and international cooperation of Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers in recent years. The French side hopes to develop further cooperation with Tsinghua University in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, technological innovation and continuing education.

After the signing ceremony, the French delegation, accompanied by teachers of iCenter, visited the Digital Capability Center, Maker Space, Innovation Workshop and other places for students’ engineering practice and innovation & entrepreneurship education. The two sides discussed concrete cooperation in engineering education, innovation & entrepreneurship, continuing education and other fields.
