Electronic Technology Lab

The Electronic Technology Laboratory was established in 1992 and is currently affiliated to the Fundamental Industry Training Center of Tsinghua University.

1. Positioning of Functions
The Electronic Technology Laboratory, as a supporting platform of iCenter for its teaching activities in electronic practical work and innovation in electronic technology, undertakes teaching tasks such as hands-on exercise in electronic technology, manufacturing engineering experience, manufacturing engineering practice and so on. It also undertakes and participates in various practical teaching activities involving electronic design and production within other innovative practical open course programs. Additionally, it also serves to facilitate science and technology competitions in electronic information technology through coordination, guidance, tutoring and processing support while, at the same time, providing support to other faculties for electronic design and production in their competitions. It serves as a support platform for competitions such as the Electronic System Design Competition, the Digital System Design Competition, the Virtual Instrument Competition as well as a number of student competitions in science and technology.

2. Laboratory Components
According to the curriculum and the characteristics of innovative teaching activities, the Electronic Technology Laboratory sets up three sub-labs for e-learning and one open sub-lab for electronic innovation that operates virtually and is available to all the students. The laboratory also includes three electronic integration production rooms and a printed-board production room.

The laboratory is located at B450, B438 and B242 south in the North West Section of Lee Shau Kee Science and Technology Building and occupies an area of 500 square meters with fixed asset worth over RMB 3 million.

3. Laboratory Team
There are 7 lab technicians, 2 senior engineers and 3 other technical team members.

4. Teaching Tasks
The lab undertakes teaching tasks for the courses involving electronic technology practice, comprehensive practice for using electronic systems, manufacturing engineering course series and so on, accepting approximately 2,000 students each year.

5. Achievements
1 project won 1st prize in the Teaching Achievement Award of Tsinghua University. 3 projects won 1st prizes in the Experimental Technology Achievement Award of Tsinghua University. The course Electronic Technology Internship was awarded the titles of Beijing Excellent Course and Excellent Course of Tsinghua University.

Open Lab for Innovation
The Open Sub-lab for E-innovation of the Electronic Technology Laboratory has been set up for a number of years and is home to many outstanding students such as QIU Hongyun who invented the“Multi-media Large-screen Projection TV”, WANG Xiaofeng who came first in the national Challenge Cup and WANG Hao and WU Tianji, the two Makers who founded the startup company Mirage Intelligence. Despite the challenges and difficulties, many students have had a great time here. Would you like to learn about some innovation success stories, such as Wander in Leisure, Map Out a Strategy, Fevernova, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Sky Fortress, Walk with Dainty Steps, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Treasures! and Panzer Elite? We look forward to meeting you here at Northwest B450 of Lee Shau-kee Science and Technology Building!
